    How to avoid this? 1. STOP USING FABRC CONDITIONER! - yes it makes clothes smell nice, but it combines with detergent and is the main source of this issue 2. Leave your machine door and detergent drawers open - let air circulate in there, it allows it to dry out better, preventing mould and gunk issues 3. Once a month, use the HOTTEST possible wash cycle with bleach, vinegar or something else that can help to eliminate soap scum, bacteria, mould and other kinds of build up Modern machines use less water, so the issue isn't the machine it is the user, and how they need to better use the machine to prevent this kind of issue I use a front loading machine (in the UK they are much more popular), and using very similar techniques, I have ZERO issues with any kind of odours, build up or deposits from my washing machine, because I am aware of the potential issues If somewhere is left to be wet for too long, it becomes gungy and yucky, if somewhere is allowed to have too much soap or other products left sitting around on it it attracts mould and gunk, your washing machine is no different, and it needs proper attention and care to prevent this People throw out washing machines that are otherwise perfectly fine, they are just disgusting because people haven't got basic knowledge

    I just finished descaling my tankless water heater. I let it run for about an hour. When I went out to shut it down the water very warm, almost hot. Is that normal? I had the power to the heat turned off.

    • @HandzforHire
      @HandzforHire 18 днів тому

      I think that's fairly normal. Essentially you're combining vinegar with calcium carbonate (hard water deposits) and the chemical reaction produces calcium acetate, water, and carbon dioxide with heat. This released heat will accumulate as it loops through the tankless water heater for an hour. Mine is pretty warm too when I do it. The only other question I can think of is... did your pump stay primed the whole time? Sometimes if not enough vinegar is used, and if a pump loses prime, vinegar inside the pump casing can get very hot due to friction from the impeller.

    • @tbl911b8
      @tbl911b8 18 днів тому

      @@HandzforHire Thanks for getting back to me. I didn’t use the vinegar solution. I used a product recommended by the manufacturer. I did that because they warranted my last heater that failed after 3 years. As far as I know the pump stayed primed the whole time, but couldn’t say for sure. I walked away and forgot about it. It may have ran closer to an hour and half. I didn’t check, but the pump may have gotten hot. It sounds like it just be normal. Thanks again for getting back to me. Great video by the way!

    Love it but I think you could have saved a lot of time. Especially from the pre-painting and then repainting after spackling and caulking. I would at most prime the boards before putting up. But when I’ve done it I’ve put sanded boards up unpainted, done all the work (nails, spackling sanding caulking, hit everything with a tinted primer, let it dry and painted. When painting do brush work first then use the roller to cover as many brush marks on the panels as possible. Looks great though. Next time save yourself a few hours! :-)

    Excellent disassembly and cleaning instructions. A thought or two; acids clean hard-water deposits and baking soda neutralizes vinegar not sure why they are used together. Ammonia dissolves organic matter. I add 1/4 cup of citric acid and run the self clean cycle. When it spins that out I add a gallon of clear ammonia. When the tub fills I pause the cycle for a couple of hours. Press start and let it finish. And we leave the lid open after each wash.

    • @HandzforHire
      @HandzforHire Місяць тому

      Hey Bill - You are 100% correct and I should have been more clear in the video. The combination of vinegar and baking soda simply makes carbon dioxide bubbles which is a smoke show. I only tried it because so many youtubers were swearing by it. It actually did nothing at all. Your second comment on using the citric acid sounds like a very good idea. Filling the tub is key and that's challenging to do with these new washers. Have a wonderful day!!
